CENTENARY CONFERENCE. (Per Jr ress Association.) March 3. At the Methodist Conference a reso-. lution was passed demandings the compilation of a new roll for the general election. It is stated that there were more than 20,000 names at present on the rolls over the total number of adults in the Dominion. It was also decided that the churches should berecommended to allow ministers to assist in the prohibition campaign. The conference received a deputation from the Young Citizens’ League, the president assuring the visitors of the sympathy of the Church. It was decided to ask congregations to take up retiring collections for the Russian Famine Fund. It was reported that the centenary fund now’ was £36,580. It was agreed that the Central Committee should be a New Century Committee to study future work of the Church and report under the headings of spiritual, aggressive, educational, social and philanthropic and general and make progress reports to next synods and conference. * A resolution was passed affirming a favourable attitude to Church union, expressing .the conviction that the best and speediest path to union is by closer association in religious activities at home and on the mission field. Conference affirmed abhorrence of war and the fullest sympathy with the objects of tlie League of Nations.
