METHVEN BEATS ASHBURTON.
The Methven Eleven made a good opening m the senior competition by defeating Ashburton A, at Methven, on Saturday, with 94 runs m hand. Fryer, Dart, Tomlinson, and Jamießon were the 'chief contributors to Methven's total of 133, Burns taking most of the wickets. Ashburton replied with 39, not one batsman reaching double figures.
