THE WOOL TRADE. - LONDON SALES. (Per Press Association, Copyright.) LONDON, October 28. At the wool sales there was a. good attendance. Throughout the bidding ••from all centres except America was , "brisk, the Home trade giving most ; support. Topmakers and spinners were buying freely to cover orders. The selection of merinoes was very limited, but prices were exceedingly firm throughout. They closed 5 per cent, above the opening rates. Best scoureds increased by 5 to 10 per cent. Few merino and lamb wool ■was offered. The demand was good at full opening rates. Greasy crossbreds appreciated towards the finish, anfl. j closed 15 per cent, above the Septem- j ber closing • rates. Slipe and lambs j were firm, short sorts being 10 per cent, above the September rates. All scoured crossbreds were 10 per cent, above. Of 145,534 bales offered fully • 90 per cent, were sold.
