ENTERTAINMENTS
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.
| A charming comedy-drama of the j lighter order is "A Damsel m Distress," which will be screened at His »Maje&ty's Theatre for the laßt time this evening. The story is full of amusing and delightful comedy situations. "A Damsel m Distress" is the romance of a young "flapper" who goes to meet a former college sweetheart m New York. Her big brother however, catches sight of her and, giving chase, his elusive sister jumps into a nearby taxi, which happens to be occupied by a young playwright. Then the comedy situations follow one another till romance enters the sphere of events and a happy ending of mutual satisfaction is arrived at.
The leading feature m the new programme to-morrow night is "Lying Lips," a Thomas H. Ince production m which the two popular players Florence Vidor and House Peters are co-starred. The picture depicts the contrast between selfish and unselfish love. The heroine is a product of wealth and culture who is attracted to a resourceful and primitive type of manhood. In a critical moment, her courage deserts her, and she becomes a product of deceit. Then her soul becomes purged through the force iof conscience. The picture teaches a good moral, while m it there is scene after scene of spectacular thrill, each one having been staged m a most artistic and realistic manner. A varied selection of supporting films will also be screened. A special picture programme arranged for children will be presented at a matinee m His Majesty's Theatre to-morrow afternoon at 3.15 p.m. Tho proceeds will be devoted to the sweets stall at the forthcoming Borough School carnival.
