SOUTH ISLAND COUNTRY TEAM v. MANAWATU.
PALMERSTON NORTH, Aug. 11. Manawatu defeated the South Island Country team by 22 to 8. Play was ragged and mostly confined to the forwards. Manawatu were superior in the forward division, and also used the backs to greater .advantage; For the South Island, O'Brien kicked a penalty goal and Falconer scored, Nelson converting.
