STARVING CHILDREN

BRITISH RELIEF PROPOSALS.

(Per Press Association —Copyright). LONDON, February 10. A movement is being inaugurated in the north of England to bring children from the famine-stricken areas in Central Europe for a year's hospitality in England. The Manchester City Council "has been asked to arrange hospital-, ity for 2000 children, and Bradford for another 1000 children, all of school age. In connection with the proposal there was an acrimonious debate in the Bradford City Council, as a result of which the Council rejected the the proposal. , Speakers angrily declared that there were many children in Bradford who wanted succouring as badly as the children of Central Europe.

Others asked if the English children killed in the air raids were forgotten. One speaker declared that the proposal emanated from the Labourites, who had supported the enemy in war time. This caused a heated'discussion until the statement was withdrawn.
