The Gorman public, regarding M. Clemenooau as the incorporation of French chauvinism and hatred, has inter, prctod his defeat as a. desire on the part of influential French politicians for an altered policy towards Germany.
The newspapers, however, warn the public, that M. Clemenceaii's defeat does not imply the defeat of his policy.
