industries. ■ ■■;''' . The American output of coal m 191 / per worker was 770 tons and British 240 tone. The former Avas still increasing, while the latter was diminishing. . The Board of Trade has issued a White Paper explaining the increase in the price of coal. It states that the estimated deficiency on the working of the coal industry for a year fronl the 16th of the present month will be £46,600,000. The year's output is estimated^ 217,000,000 tons, less eight millions for consumption at the collieries, six. millions for miners' use, and thirty-two millions for bunkers leaving 161 millions over which the deficiency will, be spread.
