TRAIN SERVICES.

RAILWAYMEN'S PROTEST.

DTJNEDIN, July 14

The Duuedin branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants passed a resolution protesting against the action of the Government in curtailing the railway services, thereby paralysing many industries, and creating unemployment at a time when seasonal occupations are completed, and large bodies of soldiers are returning. The resolution called on the Government to resume the railway service in Otago by using local coals for all trains carrying imperishable goods, as a necessary means of opening up new avenues of employment and absorbing the unemployed.
