Sir -Douglas Haig, in a speech on receiving the Freedom of the City of Liverpool, suggested tiie formation of a si-ugle national organisation to preserve the comradeship of ex-service men. He hoped it would be possible besides amalgamating the existing benevolent associations, to , form new clubs and societies throughout, the country in the great war. .
