At the- Police Court yesterday, two ! waterside workers,'one being the president of the \inion, .were charged with receiving blankets, knowing they had been stolen. Tho blankets were taken, from the steamer Pakeha and the de-. fence was that they were, bought from seamen innocently. Both defendants, who . were given good characters, were quite frank in the matter, and the Magistrate gave them the benefit of tho doubt and dismissed the case.
