INVERCARGILL, July 8
At the- Police Court yesterday, two ! waterside workers,'one being the president of the \inion, .were charged with receiving blankets, knowing they had been stolen. Tho blankets were taken, from the steamer Pakeha and the de-. fence was that they were, bought from seamen innocently. Both defendants, who . were given good characters, were quite frank in the matter, and the Magistrate gave them the benefit of tho doubt and dismissed the case. It was stated that fifty blankets are still missing." ..
