CANTERBURY RETURNS.
CHRISTCHURCH, July 8
The following cases of sickness were reported to Dr H. Chesson, District Health Officer, in Christchurch for the week ended noon yesterday:—
West!and—Enteric fever 1
Grey—Diphtheria 1, lethargic encephalitis 1. _ North Canterbury—Scarlet fever d, diphtheria 3, tuberculosis 2, puerperal fever 1, pneumonia 5, influenza 10.. Ashburton —Lethargic encephalitis 1, influenza 2. South Canterbury—Scarlet fever I, diphtheria 4, tuberculosis 1, influenza S 'The following cases of influenza, were reported from 2 p.m. cm Thursday last to" noon yesterday:— North Canterbury—4 cases, 3 miW, cue pneumonic at Lyttelton; one death in .Christchurch Hospital. South Canterbury—2 mild cases.
