HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.
Tho star feature at His Majesty s Theatre on Saturday night, witnessed by a largo number of spectators, was. "The Life Mask." The play featured Olga l'etrova, and was produced by 'her own company. The plot wjis so skilfully handled that the spectators were kept in a state of perplexity until near' the end of the film. Briefly, the story was that of the society woman whose devotion to a quiet game _ot bridge got her -involved in financial difficulties, and in order to avoid a public scandal site sacrificed her .handsome daughter in marriage to a financier. Naturally, the marriage was unhappy, and there was also introduced into "the story fivo'or six different characters, all of whom had , some motive for the death, of the financier. Olga Petrovsr was seen in an unusual role in which it can" be claimed she filled with artistic skill, her emotional acting being of a powerful nature. This film will be screened again .this evening, in addition to the other attractions provided. The programme also contained the "Co-operative Weekly," which dealt with a variety of subjects, find a laughable comedy, "Her Slumbering Hero."
