CHURCH OF CHRIST.
At the Church of Christ, Mr W. Phillips referred to'the need 'for thanksgiving. The war, he said,* was too big an; event for God not to have a hand in; Ho was ever Btriving*for a better state of affairs among' the human family. Some thought we had no right to be thankful or, rejoice. Ten lepers were cleansed, but only one returned thanks to the Father; yet that one had helped to make history. We should thank God that He had rebuked power, pride,; and arrogance. The Empire's answer, to God's goodness could be well expressed in the manner in "which it answered."the call for an effective League of Nations.
