GAMING ACT CHARGES.
WELLINGTON, February U. Yesterday 'afternoon the police arrested Henry Mar tindale, Clarence Le Sueur, and Henry Walk on charges of the Gaming Act. Fourteen men appeared before the Court this .morning. Eleven were further remanded. -In the charges against O'Connell, Knigge and Avery of being found without lawful excuse in a common gaming house, the police offered no evidence, and the cases / were struck out. .Counsel for defen'a>v ": ants stated that they went into tluy^-v shop to make legitimate^ purchases while the police were still in occupation.
