Referring to New Zealand criticisms of his alleged harsh treatment in handicapping New Zealand horses onto rod for the spring races, Mr .Daly, the handicapper, is reported to have justified the weights, regarding the form of the best New Zealanders as very little, if anything, below 'the Australian best. The first acceptors for the Australian Hurdles include. Tenacious, and for the Steeplechase, Waimai (New Zealanders).
