ACCIDENTS & DEATHS.
CHRISTCHURCH, July 23. Mr T. A. B. Bailey; Coroner,'held an inquest at Leeston Courthouse on Saturday night,, into the circumstances surrounding the death of James Brewster, an ex -jockey, who was killed by a fall From, a horse at Leeston on Friday evening. The deceased had been employed for the last six months as ; ii-emTa! hand by Mr P.. Smith, licensee of the Leeston Hotel. Dr. Withers gave evidence to 1 the 'effect that death had been caused by a fractured ,spine., and the Coroner returned a verdict accordingly.
