ENTERTAINMENTS.

HAYWivRD'S , PICTURES. A fine Vitagraph drama. "Tho Chattel," was screened at the head of a fine selection of films before a good audience at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday evening. Tho production of the film was quite out of the ordinary, the mounting and setting being really- artistic. Peggy Hyland and E...H. Southern, two of .the leading emotional artists, appeared in the principal roles. Peggy Hyland's acting was splendid, while the series of wonderful dresses which she wore met with the approval of the fair sex. The Btory reveals how a financier, in the .manner of his kind, "purchases" a wife. Having achieved his desire, he pays but little attention to her, and his awakening comes too la<te. " Haystacks and Steeples " was a clever Keystone comedy, which ranks among the best screened here for somo time. A topical film completed the programme.
