DR. MICHAELIS'S SPEECH.
AN UNSATISFACTORY
IMPRESSION
AMSTERDAM,: July 21.
Reports from Berlin state that Dr. 'Michaclis'fi speech created an unsatisfactory impression, a-nd pleased neither side of the House, which passed the peace resolution, although Dr. Michaelis did not approve it. This is regarded as a sign of want of confidence, evoked by an over-diplomatic speech.
Dr Miehaelis's announcement that he favoured peace by conciliation is believed to be a hint of possible neutral mediation.
