A well-known local land agent, nam.«d William W;u'noek Allender, was wrested at^lns ofliw in Cashel Street yesterday morning by J)etective~Sergeanl Gibson on a charge that on February 9 last li-> mioivod from George Cotter a sum of £o 16s 8d on terms requiring him to account for the same to T. L. Flans and did fraudulently omit to.dof f>o. , , _ Allender ivas at once'taken before Mr T r A. B. Bailey, SM., and charged with the offence, 'Mr Cunningham' appearing for him. lie was remanded for a week, bail being fixed at £100 and one surety of £100, which was forthcoming.
