MAYFIELD BRANCH.

Dellow) ■„ reported that there, h^d been an average attendance of 16 members at the . fortnightly meetings.: Alj. meriibers had worked most assiduously, as did also the ladies who .did knitting and sewing at home. During the 1 year the society had .assisted the Cafe Chantant ,*. with gifts. The Mayfield ladies had -I hol^l a sale in Ashburton, from which' the sum of £30 was raised, and was handed over to the Lady Liverpool Fund. A jdonation also of £10 was made to the French Red Cross Fund. ■ The Members' Day Fund during the year amounted to £10. A monthly donation of os has also been given for soldiers' comforts in hospitals, and to the Ashburton Centre the articles forwarded amounted to 611.

Cordial votes of thanks were passed to tho retiring officers of the society, and the election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted in the reelection of all the officers, as follows: Mrs John Brown, president; Mrs T. Corbott and Mrs J. Burgess, vicepresidents; Mrs G. Murdoch, treasurer; and Mrs W. K. Dellow, secretary.
