MEETING
WELLINGTON, July 11. Dull weather was experienced for the opening day of the winter meeting of the Wellington Racing Club. Considering that no special trains wero run, the attendance was satisfactory, many going out by motor conveyances. The total isator investments were £31,284, as against £35,765 last year. Concluding results: —
Parliamentary Handicap, ,of 4QO soys; one mile and a-quartei\— Orleans 1, Grand Idea 2, Goldstream 3. Won by a good head; half a length between second and third. Time, 2min 21 4-ssec.
Winter Hurdles, of 600 soys; two miles.—Leonta 1, Gladful 2, Itewi Poto 3. Won easily by several lengths; third a head "away. Time, 4min lsec.
Te Aro Handicap, of 150 .soys; , six 'urlongg.—Charley 1, Black Hill 2, tajput 3. Won comfortably. Time, mm 19 2-ssec. , • , .
