A FRENCH REPORT.
LONDON, May 9.
A French, commimiquer states:—The - enemy infantry has been inactive northeast of Soissons and in the region of Chemin-des-Bames, but there has been artillery activity, which our artillery violently countered.
We bombarded the Cevny, Hurtebise, and Craonne sectors.
Grenade skirmishes have been carried out east of Vauxaillon, and elsewhere there has been cannonading.
It is now certain that 25 German 1 aeroplanes-were"destroyed in fair fights ing between May 1 and May 7, besides 51 crippled, which fell behind tlie German lines.
