PLEA FOR LENIENCY,

LONDON, Juno 1. Mr Dillon appealed for magnanimous trpatment of Irish prisoners. ':"- v •■-"•• Mr Asquith said tho Government's policy was to nse leniency and clemency consistent with the vindication of the law and the prevention' of a recurrence of the outbreak. About 800 hnd already been discharged,, and prisoners were given power to appeal to { an Advisory Committee, to which the Government was adding two Irishmen.
