LAND AND GENERAL. SAVE THE LAMBS. To a large-extent your prosperity and that of tho Dominion depends upon this. Read what other thrifty Farmers do, and try joskph fokd'S scour and LUNG-WORM MIXT UitE. North Bank, Raknia, Sept. 25, 1912. Mr F. Ferriman, A-shhurton. Dear Sir,—in March In at I drenched about 5000 lambs, which wore dying of Lung Worm, and I found the lambs improved wonderfully, and I did not lose any after drenching. In August last I bought 100 ewe hoggets, which were very low in condition, and they were very bad with Lung "Worm. I drenched them one dose, and it stopped all coughing a.ud - they are doing splendidly. I have carried lambs home expecting them to die, and have given them a dose of Lung Worm Mixture for experiment and they have been walking about in the morning. I have great faith in Ford's Mixture, and recommend it to all sheepbreeders. I Yours faithfully, ! (Sgd.) JOHN SOWDEN, Junl--1 GALLON, 19s PER GALLON. ' 2 GALLONS, 17s PER-GALLON. THE NEW ZEALAND FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION OF CANTERBURY, LTD. Christchurch,' August 25, 1911. Mr F. Ferriman, Aehburton. Re FORD'S SCOUR & LUNG WORM MIXTURE. Referring to our recent, conversation with reference to the above, I have very much pleasure in stating that this Association has handled the above preparation for upwards of 20 years, and so far as I have been able to ascertain its effects have at all times been' most satisfactory. Indeed, I can conscientiously state that I have never met a j single complaint. Yours faithfully, j E. W. RELPH, Manager. avoid Dagging by Using JOSEPH FORD'S DRENCH. Copy of Circular Letter issued in Canterbury. RE DAGGING. THE FREEZING COMPANIES re-j gret having to draw attention to the condition in which many lines of sheep and lambs are sent to Saleyards and Freezing Works, owing to the growers having iieglected to hare same properly dagged or crutched. Tho matter is a serious one, as it not only affects the animal in a live state, but also prevents the carcases from being dressed with tho finish and cleanliness which are an absolute necessity for placing them on the Home market to the best advantage. In spite of every care, stains are bound to disfigure such carcases, and no amount of wiping down will remedy this condition as they cannot avoid, in many cases, injuring tho pelts and so incurrmg fines. In^view. of the reasonable remonstrances of tho slaughtermen against being compelled to kill.dag^y sheep and lambs, and also of the considerable discredit and monetary loss occasioned by the necessarily imperfect dressing of such carcases, WE hereby give notice on behalf of The Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Limited, and the Christchurch Meat Company, Limited, that any such sheep will be drafted at the works and rejected.
