CHRISTCIIURCH, Juno. 1. Frauk Humphreys, a single man, about 35 yours of age, was found in an old Bhed "at Office>r's Point, Lyttelton, about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon with his throat cut. As Tar as can be ascertained, Humphreys came to Lyttelton about 18 months ago, and commenced work on the wharf. He has a brother on the West Coast. DUNEDIN, May 31. Lan Macgregor, four years of age, fell into a wool-press at Tillies flock mill, at Kaikorai, to-day. The child was found at G p.m., smothered. .Ho wns playing about neat- where, his father worked, and was found by the latter bead downwards in the press. The lather tried to restore animation, but without result.
