ANNUAL- MEETING. Tho annual meet-ing of the SglwynLicensing Coiiunitteo was hold at Hukaia to-day. Present: Messrs T. A. B. Baik>\, fa:M. (chairman), Thomas Blackioy, Alexander Magson, jun., D. McMillan, and 11.I 1. Drummond. Senior-Sergeant Ryan reported .favourably upon tho manner in which all the hotels were being conducted in the 1 Silwyn licensing district. Permanent, licenses were granted to"William Henry Kobins, Canterbury Hotel, Mothvoh; Uobort F. Marshall, .Railway Hotel, Jtakaia'; and John J. Coffoy. Springfield Hotel, Springfield. Honewals of licenses were granted to Timothy Tvunney, , Methven Hotel, Mothvon; Hairy Taylor, South Rakaia Hotel, Rakaia; Arthur R. Johnstone, Sheffield Hotel. Sheffield; John Richardson. Blull" Hotel, Coaigate; Thomas \V. Prieo. Jfororata I-loiel. TTororata.; [ James K"V> r. ilaJliday, Chertsey Hotel, , Chertsey. I :V remit was road by the chairman 1 from the Otaki Licensing Committee inith a recommendation that legislation | ho. pas.-,orl providing that where one 'district has more than the required."
