GERMAN POSTS CAPTURED
The High Commissioner reports:—
LONDON, May 29
Our troops on the northern border of Rhodesia and Nyassaland, on Thursday advanced 20 miles into German territory over the whole front of Lakes Nyassa and Tanganyika..
The enemy were compelled to retire from IpianaJ 21 miles • north of Karunga, and from Igamha, 18 miles north-east of Port Hill, tow ard s Hew j Langenborg. South African and Nyassaland troops effected good work during the | night in bridging and crossing the river Songre. General Smuts reports that the railway station at the same place, on the !Usambara railway, was occupied on Thursday. . Another column occupied '.
