THE DRAPERS and MERCERS of the Town of Ashburton having notified Country Visitors to the PATRIOTIC SHOW that they DO NOT INTEND TO OBSERVE THE AVHOLE HOLIDAY proclaimed by His Worship the. Mayor, on People's Day, THURSDAY, 16th inst., the JOINT SHOW -COMMITTEE would point- out I that they do not consider this action to be in the interests of tho, Fund for which tho Show is being held, viz., the RELIEF OF OUR SICK AND WOUNDED SOLDIERS,, and would ask the people of the County to remember that the Show is being run entirely by VOLUNTARY EFFORT, in which the LADIES OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY are taking' their full share, devoting all their 'energies to make the DAY WORTHY OF THE CAUSE. „• Remember that EVERY SHILLING SPENT AT THE SHOW benefits those brave men who are sacrificing so much for us.
