PETROGRAD, November 18
The commander of the Russian division on the Austrian'front'has recommended the pensioning of the widow of the priost Veremchuk, and tho ennoblement of his" children in recognition of Father Veromchuk's wonderful heroism. When a scouting party was about to bo ambushed Father Veremchuk sailed them across the river in his own boat, and under a heavy fire. He..was shot in the hip, returning after landing the soldiers so weak from. loss .of blood that- he lost eontrolof the rudder and drifted down stream. Hefell into tho Austrians' hands, and; the peasants heard his cries, and next day found him with his head hammered and his mouth filled with clay. The body .was covered with gashes, its collarbone was broken, the knee tendons cut, and there was evidence that he had been tortured and the body riddled with bullets. ';
