"On His Majesty's Service was the title of the principal picture screened at His Majesty's Theatre last evening. The picture was one dealing with tho spy menace, and the part* were well carried out by the principals. The story opens just as the war is about to begin between Germany and England. Otto Bergmann and William Bergmann are Germans .doing business in England. They are mild-mannered men, but nevertheless they are important secret, agents of the German Government. With their porter and chauffeur a« allies, they are holding themselves ready to do the wishes of tho heads of tho German%py system. They are closely watched by their typist, who is really an agent of the English Secret. Servico, and is in communication with another secret service agent, a man. The Bergmanns receive word that at a certain time on a certain day a troop train will pass over a bridge, which they are instructed to blow up. The typist and the man have, placed a dictograph in the Bergmanns" private office. She is herself caught with a dictograph receiver at her ear. They chloroform her,-and carry her away in their car. They are followed by a motor cyclist, a secret service man. Finally, the girl is saved in the nick of time, and, from the information she can give, arrives at tho bridge in time to save the train, for the bomb achially explodes as it is thrown into the river.. There are many thrilling, situations,, and the audience is kept-, in a simmer of excitement as to what is going to happen next. "A Gentleman of Nerve," with Charles Chaplin in tho principal role, ably assisted by Mabel Normand and other favourites of the Keystone Company, provided plenty of amusement. "The Sponge Industry" was an interesting industrial film. Other subjects were "Making Straw Hate" (industrial), "The Othor Tram" (drama), "Flora and Zephyrs" (mythical coloured subject).
