British monitors and land artillery effectively bombarded various points at the Dardanelles. They destroyed portion of the Turkish front; the ocoupants of the trenches fled, and the Allies' batteries and machine guns decimated the fugitives. '
Heavy artillery and monitors vio-lently-bombarded Maidos, where most of the Turkish supplies is concentrated, inflicting important damage to the port and quays.
