1 There was a good entry of, sheep and i cattle at the Methven sale on Thursday, and a brighter demand. Sales were: — 1 Sheep.—l 49 ewes and 137 lambs at 11s Bd, 244 forward two-tooth wethers at 22s lOd, 90 merino wethers ,at 14s, ■ 25 ,do.< ,at, .14s 9d, .45 owes and . lambs^^ (all counted) at 9s 9d- 140 hoggeifAM , (mixed sexes);at 16s 9d, 112 ewes and^H lambs (all counted)'at 10s Id, 109 four, .^^ six, and eight-tooth, ewes and lambs at 11s Id. Cattle I.—Twelve 18-months-old steers at £3 19s 6d, 15 18-month-old heifers at £3 19s 6d, fat cow £12, cow (spring- , ing second calf) £9 15s, cows (springing) at £7 5s and £10 ss, 2 steers and heifers at £3 10s.
