SURNSIDE STOCK MARKET.

DUNEDIN, August 11. There was a medium yarding of fat cattle at Burnsido to-day, 167 being penned. The quality on the whole was only fair. Prices for prime bullocks were a shade easier, and medium and inferior declined by 15s per head. Best bullocks made £16 10s to £17 (extra to £18 10s), medium £12 15s to £13 10s, inferior £10 15s to £11 ss; best cows and heifers £11 10s to £13, medium £9 10s to £10 10s, inferior £6 15s to £7 10s.

. There was a fair yarding of fat sheep, 2064 being penned. Prices showed a decline «f Is'per head compared with last week's ratcss. Tho majority of the entry consisted of only fair quality. Prims wethers made 32s to 36s (extra fco 495), medium 26s to 275, inferior 22s to 235; best owes 27s to 30s (extra to 375), medium 24s to 25s 6d, inferior 20s to 21s. The yarding of fat lambs was small, only about 1400 coming forward. Prices were very firm at last .week's rates. A number of lambs showed signs of going back in condition, owing to° losing their teeth, and these were not competed for by freezing exporters. Competition, from graziers was very poor. Best made up to 30s 3d, medium. 24s to 265, inferior freezers 18s to 19s, forward stores 15s to 16s. - There was a medium yarding of fat j>igs, and a good entry of stores. Competition for porkers and baconers was firm at last week's rates, and stores; were more keenly competed for. Heavy baconers" made to £4, heavy porkers to £3, light porgers to £2 15s, stores to 265, slips 1.5s to 18s, suckers 7s M to 10s. ' ■ • • ■■•. •;■
