STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER.

W KLLINGTON, August 10. The Prime Minister was asked today whether, in view of the reduction in the price of butter in New Zealand, the Government would now be prepared to allow export to be resumed. "My advice," said Mr Massev, "is that butter is coming in freely now, and I think it will soon be possible for us to remove the embargo upon export altogether. My -correspondence goes to show that all the factories in the Auckland province and most'of those in tho Tarariaki province have commenced operations, although the supply of milk Is very small now as compared with what it will be in two or three months." Mr -Massey said that the embargo had been rigidly enforced. A few days ago he had allowed a small shipment to leave Auckland on condition that the price in Auckland was reduced and the price was reduced.
