VIOLENT GERMAN ATTACKS.
REPULSED WITH 'ARTILLERY FIRE. (Received August 11, 8.55 a.m.) PARIS, August 10. A communique states: — Two German attacks with petards., northwards of the Souchez railway station, were thrown back. Our curtain of fire stopped. a violent attack on our /trenches at Croix le Escarmes, and a frosh attack at night, supported by asphyxiating shells, was j also stopped by our artillery.
