ACTION BY THE GOVERNOR.
PARTY LEADERS INVITED TO A
CONFERENCE

WELLINGTON, July 29
Before the House-roso this afternoon, tho Prime. Minister stated, as ono reason for an adjournment till Tuesday, that it was iriore than possible that a very important conference which he and certain other members of the House would bo expected to attend, was to be held to-morrow afternoon.
This was interpreted to mean that the Governor had invited the leaders of tho two parties and ether members to meet him in conference. It has since become known that this is the case, but the conference will not take place, to-morrow. It may be- held on Monday, but not before that day.
