LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, July 28. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. Imprest Supply Bill. Tho Imprest Supply Bill for £903,000 . passed all its stages. Cook Islands Bill. Tho Cook Islands Bill was read a second time, and referred to the' Statutes Revision Committee. Liquor at Bellamy's. When the Speaker announced tho result of the liquor.poll at Bellamy's, the Hon. G. Carson asked whether, as it was open voting, would tho ballot be entered in the Journal of the Council. , The Speaker said that was not the practice. The Hon. G. Carson said he was aware of tho practice, but he wanted to know what was necessary under the statute.' . The Hon. F. H. I>. Bell said ■he thought the matter was covered by the practice of the past, and the matter then dropped. Chairman of Committees. The Hon. W. C. F. Carncross was elected Chairman of Committees. The Hon. Mr Bell congratulated Mr Carncross on his election, and also congratulated the Council on having one so competent to fill the position and one who had boen so courteous in (Carrying out the duties in the past. I The Council adjourned at 3.15 p.m.
