A Chat About Your Spraying Outfit Of course you are aware that the letter of the law demands preventive measures being taken to combat the numerous . . pests of the orchard, and Winter Spraying is an absolute . . necessity... Only at this time of the year, when the leaves are off and the buds dormant, is it possible to use the strong Spraying Compounds necessary to remove Scale,. Blight, etc. The. first and most important item of the Spraying Outfit is the Pump. It does not pay to waste time in using a poor Pump.. The initial mistake usually is to purchase a cheap . . Pump.. Cheap Pumps are not cheap—for the strong chemicals used m the Spraying Compounds readily corrodes them, and one, season's use often leaves them useless.
