The High Commissioner reports :•— The sector round Souche/, is being subject to an intense cannonade. Arras has been twice bombarded, causing a great fire, which the French was able to rapidly extinguish. In the Argonne there was a, violent cannonade;, on the whole front. In Alsace the French completed the capture of a very strongly organised German position on the crest of Lingekopf and Schrutzmanncle. At Barrenkopf, on a front of two kilometres, dominating a principal valley, the French made prisoners of several German officers and upwards of 100 men.
