LISBON, July 27
There was much rioting in the Douro province owing to a clause in the treaty oi" commerce between England and Portugal allowing tho southern districts to export cheap wine under the name of port. The JDourq producers demand that the treaty., shall not be ratified, and that the export be restricted to genuine full-bodied port.
Ono thousand armed with scythes, axes, rifle,*;, bludgeons/ and dynamite bombs are invading tho towns, burning public buildings and making bonfires of tho records, mobbing railway stations, smashing wine, depots, and breaking; casks of alcohol from the south.
