RED CROSS FUND.
COMING MAYFIELD EFFORT
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
The ladies of Mayfickl are displaying considerable enthusiasm in their efforts to push Red Cross work. Regular meetings are held in the Band Hall, where good work is being done. To help on this work, a number of gentlemen met in the Band Hall on Saturday night to discuss the ways and means to render some tangible financial assistance to the movement. Mr J. Brown was voted to the chair, and those present unanimously agreed to make arrangements for a monster hare drive, (to include Anama, Ruapuna, and Porateko). It was also suggested that a strong appeal be made for farmers and others to observe the day as p close, holiday. Ladies are to be asked to provide luncheon at various positions of the route.. The > proprietors of the two local stores signified their intention of submitting the ammunition at cost price. The day set for the drive is Friday, July 30.
