GERMANY AND AMERICA. THE AMERICAN NOTE.

American diplomats agree that the Note is practically an ultimatum, offering the alternatives of compliance and defiance. The latter will assuredly mean an open- rupture. The arguments of the Note are considered unassailable.
The American Press universally supports, and Americans are solidly;behind, Mr Wilson, no matter what results may ensue.
