LONDON, July 26
A submarine sank the American, steamer L-e elan aw, bound from Archangel to Belfast with a cargo of flax. The crew were landed at Kirkwall.
The British steamer, Grangowood, from Archangel to Havre, was sunk in the North Sea. The crew were saved.
