REVERSE IN THE VOSGES
AERIAL SUCCESSES CLAIMED
AMSTERDAM, July 23. A German official communique states: —'' We drove the French from advanced positions at Linge Barrenkopf, but according to our plans we evacuated the positions in order to avoid losses.:
" As,a reprisal for the bombardment of Thiancourt and other places, we yesterday bombarded Pona-a-Mousson. " Our airmen bombarded the railway triangle at St. Hiliare, in the- Champagne, and forced enemy airmen to retreat. In an aerial fight at Conflans we destroyed an enemy aeroplane."
