NEW ZEALAND.MADE SHRAPNEL

TESTS AT TRENTHAM

WELLINGTON, July 26

To-day, ■ at the Trentham range, in the presence of artillery experts and about a dozen members of Parliament, tests were made of 18-pound shrapnel shells manufactured by Mr G. Birch, of Blenheim.

The shells burst satisfactorily over a large area, and in other respects the tests seemed to show" good results, though some of the shell cases have yet to be found and examined before experts can gjve their verdict.
