NEWS AND NOTES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) RAKAIA. ••• ■ , The Ancient Order of Foresters, Court Star of Rakaia, No.^. 7760, held its fortnightly meeting on Wednesday last, when there was a large attendance of officers and members.' One member was initiated intothe Order and several | candidates proposed for/initiation at a 'future""meeting. The members arranged for a dance to be held shortly, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Court. After' lengthy, business had been transacted and the Court closed. A euchre, match (A.O.F. v. Telegraph Linesmen) was played,- which' resulted in a win for .the latter by 80 points. A very enjoyable evening was spent, songs kuid recitations and stump. J speeches being given by members .of the company. A return match was arranged to be held on June 10. After toasts had been exchanged, the party broke up with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." .. . . . .•■. ,;
