FALLING AWAY FROM CHURCH

On Februai-y 22 the united committees of the movement away from the State Church took a census in the 78 churches of Berlin and Charlottenbur'g. These churches have seating accommodation for 120,000, and serve v population of 2,060,000. _. .
On the date mentioned there were only 35,000 at two services, or under 2 per cent, of the population. Of worshippers present on that day, the journal declared, more than threequarters were v/omen and children.
The movement away from the church is stated in another quarter to be growing seriously. Last year, in Germany, 12J0OO persons severed their connection with the State Church, in comparison with 6000 in the previous year and 3000 in 1910.
