HIGHBANK.

There was a good attendance, and the following committee was appointed: — W. T. Lilley (chairman), A. I#eggett, T. Elliot, H. Ledgerwood, A. Geddes, G. Leggett, and T. Gunderson. Voltes of thanks were passed to the retiring committee and to the teachers. A resolution was. passed that a letter be sent to the Postmaster-General (through the member for Selwyn) asking for direct communication by telephone between Highbank and Methven, and pointing out that the poles were within two miles of the Bureau at the present time. This connection would'bring Highbank in touch with the doctor, whereas at present it is cut off in the evenings.
