FOOTBALL.
SOUTHERN CROSS CLUB
A general meeting of the above Club was held at the Commercial Hotel last evening, when Mr T. J. Turtill pre^ sided over a good attendance of mem bers. The balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance of £1 19s 9d, was adopted.
A letter was received from the Springburn Club asking if the Southern.Cross Club could meet it on Saturday, May 16, instead of Thursday j May 14.—1t was.resolved to accede to the request. ■ ;n
A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the following; gentlemen for donations : —Messrs John Grigg, S. Madden, P. Messent, andsW. .Nosworthy, M.P. Several new members wero rc-eledt-ed.
It was decided to open the season by having a smoke concert on May 14, and a strong I 'subcommittee was appointed to arrange details. Mr P. Hawkes .was elected to the office of custodian.
A lengthy discussion took place as to the welfare of the club, after which the meeting terminated. •.'-.,•
